Our Story
Santa Run Silicon Valley was founded and is produced by the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation (SVLGF), a 501c(3) nonprofit that works to improve the quality of life for our most vulnerable Bay Area residents. SVLGF unites the community through our signature events to help raise and distribute funds for food, clothing, shelter, medical care, education and other needs in the Valley.
We are thrilled to announce that Santa Run Silicon Valley is coming back with a new mission and novel approach to community engagement. This year, we’re showcasing the power of small businesses and community partners as they step up to support a clean, safe, and vibrant downtown San Jose for all to enjoy. Join the growing community of individuals and organizations committed to supporting health, wellness, and essential programs during the season of giving. Together, we can make an impact!
In 2011, municipal funding was eliminated for San Jose’s holiday programs and the community called for action. Eager to ensure downtown remained a vibrant, festive, and lively hub, SVLGF answered the call and the Santa Run Silicon Valley was born. Now in its twelfth year, Santa Run Silicon Valley continues to provide valuable monetary contributions to community-based programs rooted in the true nature of the holidays.
